This website is a testimony to the problems Canadian Student Loan borrowers experienced from approximately 1996 to 2008 and until their loans were paid off.

The privatization of the Student Loans system by the Chretien and Martin Liberal governments broke the system and defaulted thousands of borrowers who were trying to pay their loans. There were even stories of suicide due to the harassment of borrowers.

Read the report that I prepared back in 2007 here. Canada Student Loans-The Need for Change Fortunately the new Conservative government at the time revamped the program and fixed the system for new borrowers, but borrowers under the previous program were left with ruined credit and continued harassment from debt collectors.

I call on the Canadian Government to apologize to the borrowers affected by this fiasco and make amends.

Unfortunately the Liberal government is again clobbering the Education system with their changes to International Student Visas. Yes, there's a problem, but instead of a well thought out plan, they have pulled the emergency brake on the train causing a derailment. This has introduced unprecedented instability for both private and public education institutions who serve both international and local students.

Universities have been forced to cancel programs and layoff hundreds if not thousands of full-time and contract instructors.

Again, the Liberal government has messed up the education environment.

Howdy Folks......I think it's time to stop sitting on our hands and take action.  We are all smart people.  Time to use our skills.

Go to http://www.paulmartintimes.ca/ and e-mail him.  Let's flood his website.  Flood every MP we can with e-mails.  Make them listen!  Hit it once, twice a week.  Everyday if you can.  You had a bad day with student loans?  E-mail Paul!

JOIN THE FLOOD!  Make sure he cannot ignore us.  Make it the talk of the web.  E-mail the press and make them aware of the flood.  Right now there is a student loan question on the Website.

Come on, guys....time to start putting our education to work.  Let's use the skills we've got and utilize the greatest medium ever....the internet!

Thanks for some more email addresses. The frustration stories with the CIBC continue even though they have been paid by HRDC. My sister received a telephone call (at her home) looking for me. They identified themselves as CIBC and left a phone number. The name with the phone number was a collection agency that I had spoke to previously. When I contacted the collection agency, irately, they said they had never called my sister. The CIBC wanted my sister to give them my telephone number. After seven years of dealing with that inadequate organization, they do not even have my telephone number on file. The entire CIBC SLC needs to answer to someone.

The confusion with the CIBC continues. Yesterday I received a call from the CIBC SLC saying they were returning my telephone call from March 07th. I asked them is this would be March 07, 2003. I have not contacted them since then. And why were they calling my sister on March 09, 2004 asking her for my phone number? Nothing the CIBC does makes any sense.

Likely a collection agency posing for the CIBC.  I can think of several laws they are breaking.  What is happening now?
