So here is a run down, Student loans from 1994-1996, paid off my Ontario student loan in like 1999....declared bankruptcy in January 2005, Discharged Aug 2009(A. Farber forgot to file my discharge)

So CCA is calling all the time. Sent them a registered letter for a settlement of $540. Debt is $1080 with interest without interest is $683.00. They will not acknowledged letter. When I called they were extremely rude, saying that they cannot erase the interest, because I agreed to pay it when "I came to them BEGGING for money for an education" I ended up hanging up on her, it was the whole Begging thing that pissed me off.....so what should i do next when trying to negotiate?

The loan would not be statute barred, but what you could try to do is negotiate a monthly payment. Other option is to talk to your trustee to see if the loans could be included in your previous bankruptcy as you have been out of school for more than 7 years now.

Sounds like CRA collections have become just like the other collection agencies of the past -abusive.... don't take anything they say personally. These are mean people who like to mess people up with guilt etc.

What province are you in? There are rules for various provinces....in BC you can demand that they only contact you in writing.
