I have 2 question.. gov was taking my income tax and that money was paying off my HRDC loan portions (I'm guessing this is the provincial?). I recently completely paid off the HRDC portion! but still have the Federal amount which is with TCR and that portion I haven't acknowledged in years...

Now that the HRDC portion is paid off, will they still take my income tax? I got a letter from the CRA stating to call TCR and that they can withhold my income tax..

also, I recently got married, can the government take my spouse income tax if we file our taxes together? (I think not, but still wondering...)

I can answer the second question....They won't take your spouse's income tax.

Can someone answer the first question?

thanks, yeah, I figured they won't be able to take your spouses income tax...

If anyone has an answer to:

Now that the HRDC portion is paid off, will they still take my income tax? I got a letter from the CRA stating to call TCR and that they can withhold my income tax.. when my income tax was taken in the previous years it would reduce my amount owed to HRDC.. so that amount is now completely paid off.. what happens with the amount with TCR??
