Subject: Transunion -Last activity date changed!

I pulled both my Equifax and Transunion reports to verify that my student loans had come off as the date of last activity was June 2004.  They are gone from Equifax, however on Transunion it now shows the date reported as 03/06/2010.  I am assuming CBV lied and somehow made it seem like I made a payment or something (which I never did)

Is there any way to correct this?  I can not afford to pay off the loans and was looking forward to finally having them off my report so I can rebuild my credit and try to move forward with my life.  Any suggestions?

Has this happened to anyone else?  Is there nothing I can do?

What you can do is write to Trans Union and explain this to them, and ask them why the shift in activity date since you had not made any payment or acknowledgment. THey have to respond to you.

I have had this happen to me.  You must deal with the esscalations department of Tricura to have them remove the information off your TransUnion file.
Tricura is the repayment (collection) agency for the Federal Student Loan program.  Only they can correct this mistake.  If you live in Canada the number for the esscalations department is 1-866-788-0388.  Good Luck!
