My wife is disabled and I am her full time carer. We are well below the income levels at which deferment applies and there is no likelihood of improvement. The debt is also hers (Quebec) from some time before we married and she's just had a letter about it.

However, we own a modest rental (NB) and most of our income comes from that.

Can the sale of the property be forced so as to repay the loan - even though the property is effectively mine and its sale would leave us virtually without income?

Nobody has any advice to offer on this?
