Faxed it this morning, and I shall call them in a couple days to confirm that they got it. That's what I always as told, but do I have to wait that long?
I just thought I would post this, and will update on what happens, when it happens. Debt Reduction will soon be a thing of the past, I guess, but until it's over with, I'm sure people trying to get it would appreciate any extra info or experiences to learn from, like I did from this forum.
For the 12 month period that they request I give proof of income for, I was either in receipt of EI, no income whatsoever, or getting a 'training allowance'.
- For the period of time I was on EI, I went to my local EI office, I got a print out that listed the amount they paid me per week, before taxes. It looked more like a spreadsheet than anything else, and I stressed that it needed to be official, so NSLSC knew who it was from. So they stamped it with a couple service canada stamps. I'm hoping THAT's ok.
- because I was worried that the above spreadsheet didn't make it clear, I included a copy of my 1st EI statement which shows what my gross amount is. Would have been much easier if I'd just been able to send all my EI statements, but I got paid by direct deposit, and never got statements after my first one.
- for the time that I had no income whatsoever, I had my dad type something out, stating that he gave me 'this amount' for this, this and this month, signed it and sent it to me.
- for the time I received and am currently receiving a (provincial) training allowance, I included a copy of the 'contract' I got from the provincial program, in which it states that they'll be giving me a whole $252 per week (and it does state that is gross), for as long as I continue my studies, up until March '10. That, I am hoping is good enough for them.
It seems to be very clear and easy to understand, that my gross 'employment' earnings in this time period are $10,000, and I think I've proven it. Let's just hope they agree.
Please cross your fingers for me. I could really use this!
