I have a serious problem and I have no idea how to resolve it, I feel like I have done everything and no one is helping fix the issue. I have a canada student loan of 14000.00, I also had an alberta student loan of 2500.00 and my alberta student loan was paid off in 2005. For some reason on my equifax and transunion credit reports it shows i owe canada student loans 14,000.00 and Alberta student loans 14,000.00. For the past 3 months I have been starting investigation after investigation. I was told by Alberta student loans that no loan exists and that I owe o.oo. When they sent me a letter stating my Alberta student loan was paid in full i faxed it to transunion and to equifax. Both credit bureaus responded to me telling me the investigation was complete and that I still have an outstanding Alberta Student loan, the strange thing is the student loan acct number is my social insurance number, Alberta student loans (edulinx) is taking no responsibility for this inaccuracy on my credit profiles and trans union and equifax seem to be doing nothing!!! what do i do next? im trying to get a mortgage and instead of having a loan in good standing of 14,000 i have 2 loans of 14,000 stating im in debt at 28,000 which is totally false and its ruining my credit!!!! ANY ADVICE WOULD BE EXCELLENT AND GREATLY APPRECIATED

File a complaint with your provincial consumer affairs, and contact your MPP, and file a complaint with the privacy commissioner.  Escalate the issue with Equifax.
