I've been dealing with ARO inc for what seems like a life time. it all started with a student loan that went into collection. I was 7months pregnant when I got the first call from this lovely lady that called herself shelia. The first thing out of her mouth was YOU OWE $$$$$$ and you better pay it in full..blaa blaa blaa.. To say the least I was a little in shock.. Hummm who are you?? what do I owe??? So I try to explain that I was only working part time,and that I would be going on mat leave very soon, and wasn't too sure how I was going to pay this debt in full by the following week!!!.. Well Shelia had a few sugestion for me.. First.. Do I have life insurance? take any money that I can get from that and put it towards the debt. Second.. Call my grandmother maybe she can give me inharidence a little early!!! Either way I better come up with the money and fast, or I can kiss my house ,car or anything elles Good-bye!! I was freaking out!!! I called my mother, she used to work at place like that when she was younger. She told me they can't threaten me.. Even tho they already did, and they have to try to work aout somekind of payment options with me. About a weeklater Shelia calles me back. I told dear Shelia that I was aware of my rights and she wasn't gonna intimidate me with her threats. She seem to back off a bit and I told her I would pay what I could after I payed my mortgate food water heat and so on.. What ever is left we go to you, which is about $30 dollars a month. Of course this wasn't good enough, even tho I sent 6 months posted dated cheques and was trying to do what I could. she continued to make me feel like a piece of crap, because my payments were so low it wouldn't even cover the interest..Well guess it sucks to be me.. what do you want.. I can sell my blood mayb or find a good corner to work on late at night, but not sure how many men would want a pregnant women.. This went on for 2 couple years the calls every 2 weeks wanting more even tho my situation hadn't changed. It was stressful and harrasing . When I did go back to work you can bet you ass they were calling again to make sure my payments were upped.. If i'm one day late they call and they call. I just hate it. They give you fake names and treat you like a compleat incompitent person, just be cause you can't come up with 10,000 in 5 days.. I wish I could write them a cheque for the whole 10,000 and post date it for the Jan 1 2099...
