For those who didn't see it on Johnny's site, here are the articles about student loan troubles that were published in the Sun newspapers last week.

Great stories, but, it would have been nnice if they had included stories about people at  the other end of the spectrum.  People who are still struggling to pay off their loans a decade or more after they left post secondary education because they accidently reset the clock when they went back to school to upgrade their skills.

I had a discussion with CBC Radio about some of this earlier this week.

Tiresome, isn't it? The focus is all on "young" people, and how their apparent "immaturity" has helped cause their problems, even though, with our ever-changing economy, so many people have had to return to school to ensure their employability.

It doesn't help that the government messes around with the student loan system every year so that students are never quite sure what's going on...but keep plugging along with their studies because they are in too deep to turn back...and keep telling themselves that once they get a good job, it will all be okay...Confused

I suspect that reporters have a story idea based on their preconceived notions, and only surf onto this site to find evidence to support their idea...and ignore the real stories...Is that what they teach in journalism school nowadays??

Wouldn't it be equally as interesting to write about those in their 30s and 40s and so on who are struggling despite their education and experience with banks and credit?

They are out there!! I can't remember how many times I would tell someone my story and they would respond with "My sister/cousin/aunt/uncle had exactly the same problem!!"

Do any of you lurking reporters out there dare to think outside the story-box? I challenge all of you...
