helo everyone, i'm new on this site...and any help would be greatly appreciated.....My ex-wife had a mastercard with BMO and i was a secondary card holder....and it was in a great standing, when we divorced she removed my name from the card, and then she started getting delinquint with the card....a year ago, i got a call from a collection agency saying that i was responsible for the debt, i tried explaining to them that it wasn't my debt, but they didn't care...they threatened to report it on my credit report.....she got in touch with them and she told me that she worked it out with them....they stopped calling, now a year later, collect corp calls me and they tell me that i'm responsible for the debt and that they will report it on my credit report....by the way, i check my credit report every six months, and it has never been on my credit report.

Can they come after me for the debt, even if it's not mine? and can they effect my credit rating....i have a great credit rating and don't want to ruin it. I also have a signed letter from my ex, taking full responsibility for the debt. Any help would be appreciated. thanx
