Here's something that will make many of you laugh: according to one advocate for students with loans--the reason why the gov't is ignoring our plight is because they expect most students will have their loans paid off by their parents when they die and pass on their inheritance.
According to one Ottawa insider, politicians believe the following:
a/ Students don't vote and apparently student loan borrowers despite being adults and usually voters, are lumped into the same catagory as the young people demonstrating on campus each February. Because we aren't seen as voters, we aren't a big issue.
b/ According to statistics, the largest income transfer will happen in the next ten years, student loan borrowers will therefore receive funds and be able to pay off their debts, so why bother offering them incentives not to pay??!!!
