I have a defaulted CSL, I have been making regular (but small) payments every month for about 3 years or so. Right before I started making payments they put a garnishment on my federal tax return and GST. I have read that they can do this until the debt has been paid in full.

However, my uncle owes a lot of money in back taxes and they have to renew his garnishment order every few years.

How does this work for CSL? Can they take your tax returns until you pay in full of do they have to remove the garnishment when you are up to date?
