Hi

The BC Gov Student Loan Office (Student Services Branch-Ministry of Advanced Education) have crossed my student loan file with another person.

I have received letters from this government department addressed to another student with my addresss, my SIN and details of my file and somebody else's file mixed in.

I have sent 5 letters by courier to the gov asking them to fix this and they have ignored my requests.  The courier company confirms delivery.

It is my understanding that the gov agency is violating the provincial privacy regulations that state that errors in personal information must be addressed when they are brought to the government's attention.

As the gov is ignoring me, what should I do to get them to fix this?

Thanks

Good luck in trying to get anything done with the BC Government.
I am still waiting on a T4A that they supposedly mailed back in '99. Thanks to them I ended up owing $2000 to the government because I did not report all my income...

Isn't living in BC great? Thats why I am moving East....sick of dealing with a corrupt provincial government that NEVER listens to the people.

Contact the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. You can look them up on http://www.canada.gc.ca - www.canada.gc.ca . Explain the situation and ask them for advice. I have found them helpful in several situations.
