I believe the collection agency is tricura that i have had the pleasant experience dealing with. anywayz my loan is not in default or shouldn't be. i was missing some info on my interest relief pkg and the NSLSC sent my loan off to them to finish the form (which is ridiculous).

Today i spoke with a rude rep that was trying to make me send in my marriage certificate as the name on my pay stubs didn't match the name on the loan. I have been married for 2 years. For 2 years i have been filing interest relief, for 2 years they have been processing my forms, now there is an issue!!! In BC when you get married you have the legal right to use both names, it is not considered a "legal name change" i told them if they don't want to address me as my married name without legal documentation fine, they can address me as my maiden name which i have full legal right to use at any time. Anyway this supervisor called me back and was very rude and inconsiderate. I told him that i was pregnant and in my condition i cannot deal with people yelling at me right now. He kept getting ruder and ruder until i snapped. I was shaking and i thought i would lose my baby. this is ridiculous!!

Anyway, i sent emails to Ken dryden (minister of social dev) and my local MP and NSLSC. How can they allow people to treat their student loan clients this way. And that is what we are!! I don't know what else to do, almost considering some type of legal action. How can they send your file to collections when its not even default?? How is this right??

Amber23,

This is not right....plain and simple!  Your emotional and physical health matters more now than ever especially with the precious life you are carrying!!

Your story about the interest relief forms sounds very similar to mine.  Every time I applied things were going smoothly....always approved...and out of the blue they weren't satisfied with the information or something was missing (the info. hadn't changed from the last time so I still have no idea to this day what the problem could have been).

It's unbelieveable the total disregard for humanity...all in the name of collections.

I think you have done the right things by emailing Ken D. and the others....hopefully someone will get back to you.  I would be calling to check and see if email was received and not back down.....you can do it
