I don't know if it's legal or in bad taste, but I have a nice collection of
collection letters incurred.

HEY, I own it and I want to exercise my freedom of free speech.

With a photocopier, some white out (your info, not
there's), and a scanner, I don't see why it would be a bad idea to archive
the latest and greatest?

Heck, if I had a million postage stamps, I would send these babies to
Ottawa and to our government officials and our ministers....
I would even go as far as to hand-print there names in the whited out
areas so they too know how it is to get a letter from a collection house
regarding student debt.
I would write in BIG LETTERS on back or bottom my status, my income,
and what I studied, what I do now, and how long I've been trying to pay
off my debt since 19XX.

I would include it in my letter to minister so-
and-so, this is how it feels to be afraid of your mailbox or your
telephone.

Actions speak louder then words....Okay, I'm getting off topic here.

How would I make someone understand the bad and evil if they couldn't
read it for themselves?

I bet many of us would feel kinda relieved knowing that your letter and
mine are no different from one another.

I would like to scan them and post them on this thread BUT I think I'll wait
for Johnny or and admin to okay it.

Till then, anyone like this idea?

Sounds like a good idea...  They do get overwhelming, don't they? If you want to have a letter opening party..... I've still some in the envelopes

Now wouldn't it be as equally informative to hear in audio... the recorded conversations????  How 'bout sending those to the minister.

I looked at some interesting documents on another thread.

I have a lovely believeable document from Mark Silverthorn... and the o-so-law abiding Collectcorp I'd post for the sake of the thread.

When I saw the title of the thread, I assumed the scans would already be here.  Hurry up!

I think it's a fantastic idea.  Have a gallery of collection letters so people can see other collectors fear tactics and therefore alleviate some of that fear.  I have a bunch I've collected including various forms of threats of lawsuits.

As well, they're obvious form letters so if you remove any specific reference to you and the dates sent, the collectors would never know who you are.
