I highly recommend the services of John LeBlanc at CFW Group. John helped me incredibly, when my negotiations with a collections agency came to a standstill.
I was attempting to negotiate a settlement using information found on the Canada Student Debt website. The amount of money I offered was accepted. However John advised me in the web forum that I needed to have changes made to the formal offer before I paid them. These changes would protect me from them changing their mind after the fact, something that can happen. The agent I had been dealing with said it was "impossible", and his apparent supervisor screamed at me that they were going to sue me and hung up on me. Later that day the original agent phoned me and apologized for his supervisor, but said they would never change the contract. At that point I insisted the contract be reworded, and that my position was final. Then I said that John Leblanc was my financial advisor, and they would have to deal with him as my representative. The CA said this was impossible unless I sent notarized papers to that effect. At this point I had been negotiating the settlement for almost 2 weeks.
I immediately phoned John LeBlanc and explained what had happened, I apologized for falsely claiming him as my representative and that I would pay his fee if he dealt with the CA. John agreed to help me for an extremely reasonable price.
In less than 10 minutes John called me back with the news that he had a fax from the manager of the agency with the revised offer to settle, exactly as requested, and a promise to have the entire debt stricken from my credit history (something I hadn't even asked for.)
John arranged a better deal than I had believed possible, after only 7 minutes of representing me. Nobody else can do that.
