Does anyone know if my signing the homestead act puts our house at risk if I eventually have to claim banruptcy? The mortgage and the landtitle are in my husbands name and his alone. The mortgage broker wants me to sign the act but I am hesitant to do so in case it puts our home at risk. There was mention of a waiver thus denying myself all rights enclosed in said act is this perhaps a safer route to go?
Please Help
Laura
