   Hi:

 I wanted to tell the story of my Collect Corp experiance. Hopefully this will help others.

 I defaulted due to the bank  I wanted to make payements and they said thier rates or nothing. I couldn't afford it.

 The the collection company called. It was civil at first I
offered to make payments I could afford. They stated all or nothing. I
asked about any options. he stated no. I told him there was no way.
Then the old line came in I woudl get so used to hearing. Can you
borrow from family or friends. I stated no. He then told me I had to
come up with money in 2 weeks or it was actionable. I stressed and
worried but nothing I could do. No calls.. 2 weeks later he called. He
told me that he wanted payment. I asked again. he stated no and that I
was a dead beat for not paying in the first place. I got heated and
said that was uncalled for. He then told me"I'll squeeze you for
everything you have and I can get to you anywhere!" and he hung up. 

 2 weeks went by again. He called I was at work. My girlfriend
answered he told her I was a dead beat who didnt pay debts and she
should dump me now. Well.. This got me really mad. I called ranted
abit. He said pay or else. 

 1 weeks later he called my mother and told her that her signature
as on my student loan. BOLD FACE LIE. She challenged him. She asked for
a fax to a number she would provide for proof. Nothing ever came.

 This is the point I called and said he had lied to my mother and
given out my info. He said" See how mad I can get you. I can squeeze
you and make your life hell. pay us and it will all be ok."

 This was the statement that made me rock. I was going to research
and learn how to fight them. I read and read and read all the
information I could find. I didnt want to speak to them again without
all the ammo to fight them.

 One month later I called them. I spoke to the same guy. I asked
for his liscence number so I could track all information being spoken
about. He lost his mind. I stayed calm. He went off stating he didnt
have one nor did he have to give me anything. I spoke slowly and
calmly. I appologised for any inconviance but to continue working
together for a solution I woulkd need this information. He refused. I
asked one more time after he called be a hack and dead beat. He refused
again. I satated we would be unable to speak on the matter then.I hung
up.

 He called back right away. told me he would F****up my life. I
told him this was a harassing call and to discontinue. He went on for a
bit about the amount my mother etc. I hung up. I called back and asked
for a supervisor.

 I got another gentleman and I told him all that had happened. He
stated that there was some miscommunication but maybe we could work out
a deal or payments. I told him I would send 20 dollars a month till the
amount was paid. He told me this was not acceptable. I told him my
income taxes would also be taken as well as my gst to pay it. He stated
over and over unacceptable. I told him 3 possible 5 times I would send
this amount. I also told him with out a liscence number I would nt be
giving any info. He told me the liscences were locked in a room and he
was unable to give it to me. I asked for him to call me when he could
but no other phone calls to my number were to be done.

 I ams till waiting for that call. I filed a compaint. I then
filed a greviance and I got a respince saying I was rude etc.. I never
heard from them again. No mail..no phone calls. I sent 20 dollars a
month each month for 2 years. Till i got once that came back return to
sender. They had changed thier address. I had no way of knowing. I stil
have nbot recieved a single letter from them besides the start.

 This sight helps. I want to help anyne being harassed. My advice
is read the law/act and the provincal acts too. Know what they can and
cannot ask for and dont let them get to you emotionaly. Be detatched
and logical. This is the best plan.

 As for what happened to me. I'm sure I'll hear from another
company and I'll know more. (cheesey referance) Knowing is half the
battle.
