I have a problem with Gatestone they use tp be Collectcorp. they are threating legal action towards a rogers account i have , i am on disability and they say they wont accept any arrangments and are suing me can they do this ? i told them i will be getting a lawyer and was told that i dont have a case i said that wasnt there problem they told me i cant get a lawyer why cant i ? i was working with NCO collections then all of sudden this guy calls from gatestone on thursday saying i need to pay 3200 by monday WHAT really ? i have asked for documents stating why i owe so much but was told i cant where do i go from here ? do i need to get a lawyer or are they just trying to scare me ?

These are standard tactics.  They threaten legal action but rarely follow through. It is unlikely that anything will actually happen on monday.   They are refusing to accept payments because they are trying to get their full commission....

You might try calling Rogers just to tell them that you want to pay the debt, but the new collection agency wont accept any payments..  and see what they say...
